Travel Tips

1. Regrettably, due to the increased traffic gridlocks and road construction, our buses are sometimes delayed and are not able to rigidly stay on schedule! If you are waiting to be picked up, please do not hesitate to call 360-876-1737 (then push “0”) for the exact location of the bus, (thanks to GPS)!

2. For all reservations made to SeaTac, please allow at least two hours between your scheduled arrival time and your flight time! In the case of international flights, allow three hours! Delays continue to be an issue because of the increasing road traffic and Summer travel, baggage and TSA check in time delays and airline scheduling changes! On your return from SeaTac if you miss a scheduled departure, the next bus departs one hour later until 12:20AM and no reservations are necessary as it is a walk-on service! Please purchase your ticket at the counter top kiosks located between baggage carousels 2 and 3! FYI-UBER/LYFT fares from Tacoma Ben Dews to/from JBLM are approximately $40 for 1-3 passengers!

3. For our JBLM and NW Tacoma passengers we now service the Ben Dews Clubhouse and Grill located at 6501 6th Avenue, Tacoma WA 98406. Our busses arrive at SeaTac every hour, on the hour, beginning at 4:00AM and ending at 12:00 Midnight! All airport departures are 20 minutes past the hour! Our ridiculously low fares are $24 per adult passenger and $12 per child one way. It’s a much simpler and less expensive way to get to and from the airport, vice taxis or the other available modes!

4. With the additional 21st run added on May 15th, and the additional Poulsbo service location, we are finding ourselves a bit shorthanded for drivers! If you know of someone who might be interested, please ask them to contact Lauri at the office for particulars! It’s a great way to make new friends!

5. We receive many unsolicited comments from our riders about the fine support that they receive from our customer support team! Thank you all, because the  kindness runs in both directions!

6. During these current harsh economic times, we are finding that more families are driving family members to or from the airport! We ask that you consider the following facts before doing so again! Each trip to SeaTac involves another second “deadhead” trip, in which the driver returns home and is a doubling of travel costs, both in time and dollars besides the loss of sleep by the driver and the traffic tie ups that are likely to occur! And, for a single purpose you are doubling the number of cars on the road! We believe that because of BKA’s low, low fares (and which will remain unchanged in 2024) and frequent 21 hourly daily runs, that BKA buses are the only way to go, and which also supports our motto which states “Save your Marriage and Ride with Us”!

7. A second ticketing kiosk was recently installed at Seatac, immediately adjacent to the other at the counter between baggage carousels 2 and 3.
As all airport departures require no reservations and all passengers are “walk ons”,  the use of the kiosks greatly speeds up the boarding process. All passengers must simply print and give the driver your kiosk ticket and you are checked in and good to go!! Buses are boarded curbside outside Door #2.

8. The UTC has authorized a five percent increase in all BKA fares effective on May 1, 2024. Because of our existing low, low fares, frequency of service and our excellent customer service practices, we believe that they are the primary reasons that our ridership continues to grow each month. Moreover, as we are now effectively dealing with inflationary pressures, there will be no fare increases in 2024!

9. All travelers are provided with a reservation number at the time of booking! Passenger reservation numbers consist of four digits. The first two digits represent the date of travel and the last two digits are the arrival time at the airport, expressed in 24 hour time.Additionally, all Run numbers are coincidental with SeaTac arrival times and are also expressed in 24 hour time! Travelers are encouraged to double check their entered reservations!

10. If you make a next day reservation for an early morning or afternoon trip, you will likely be told to call the office (24/7) for your reservations. This is because of the lead time required to update trip manifests and alert appropriate drivers of the necessary changes!
